It was that time of the year again where school had already started, Sam knew Emma wanted him to be there for her when she was taken to school, Sam carried her in his arms as they walked down to where the bus stop would be, he laughed as Emma pouted, not wanting to leave him or her mother once they arrived Sam put her down and looked at Luna, “Ready?”
Luna smiled at Sam, ignoring Emma’s pretend coughing. “Ready.” She said and looked down at Emma, “Now, stop that. You know you’re not sick.” She said and bent down to hug her little girl. “Me and Sam will be right here when you get home, just like always.” She said, hearing the bus getting close.
He nodded looking down at here. “Then you can tell us all about your first day alright?” He ruffled her hair and kissed her forehead. “Now, common, it’s coming, you’re going to love school.” The bus came as Emma climbed on she looked back pouting, Sam smiled at her and nodded waving, “I’ll be right here when you get back, we’ll be here.” He assured her.
Luna waved and blew a kiss to Emma as the bus drove off. She looked over at Sam and gave him a sad smile, “She’s growin’ up….” She said, and took his hand in hers. “So, what do ya want to do today?”
He waved as the bus drove away, Sam looked at Luna with a smile, “That’s life love, she’ll always be your little girl.” Sam kissed her forehead and then looked down into her eyes, “Want to go for something to eat then a run like we used to?” He smiled.

She loved seeing how bright Emma’s eyes got when she was with Sam, and she loved how he truly cared for both of them. She smiled and grabbed his free hand. “We were just watching a movie,” she said, leading the two of them to the couch, “High School Musical, one of Em’s favorites.”
He held Emma with one arm as he then followed her, Emma laughed, “Yeah, I like to sing along and dance, Sam do you wanna dance with me?” He looked at her, “Of course, we’ll be dance partners deal?” Emma nodded, wrapping her arms around him, “Deal.” He looked at Luna with a smile, she looked as beautiful as ever and put Emma down on the couch in her usual spot between them.
Luna smiled as they sat down and Emma started the movie. They had the subtitles on, so whenever someone was singing, Sam would make sure he was singing louder. Em would giggle every time he did this, and she would try to out do him. Luna sat back and watched, laughing at the two. About halfway through the movie, Emma fell asleep. When it was over, Luna picked her up and carried her to her room and tucked her in bed. She walked back to where Sam was sitting and sat beside him.
Sam always had the most fun with Emma, she brightened his days, her laugh made him laugh, he wanted to make sure she was happy and safe, she deserved that. When Emma fell asleep, Sam sat back on the couch as he always did and waited for her to return, when she did, he wrapped his arms around her and brought her close. “Oh, how I missed you.” He smiled.

He walked up the front steps and suddenly Emma was hugging him, Sam chuckled, picking her up, “Hey there princess.” He hugged her tight before placing her down softly, looking up at Luna, he had that crooked half smile as always, “Hey beautiful, I missed you.” He leaned in and gave her a soft peck. He wanted to spend some time with her alone, but he knew Emma loved to spend time with both of them first, he leaned in and whispered in her ear, “I got a surprise for you.”
She smiled and raised her eyebrow. “Oh really?” Sam smiled back at her, but then bent over to pick up Emma. She loved seeing how bright Emma’s eyes got when she was with Sam, and she loved how he truly cared for both of them. It was time to close up, he had said his goodbyes to Terry and Arlene, he sighed with a chuckle as she went on and on about a raise. “I’ll think about it okay?” He then waited for Sookie to take her leave as well, giving her a hug, he closed everything and jumped into his truck, he needed to see her again, he was thinking about her all day, he started his truck and made his way to Luna’s house, her and Emma had become his whole world.
Luna was sitting on the couch in her living room watching a movie with Emma. She was braiding her daughter’s hair while eagerly waiting on Sam. She stood up when she heard his truck pull into the drive way. She and walked to the door, smiling when she opened it and saw him walking up the front steps.
